Solar / Unconventional Architecture
Edison High School was transformed into a model green campus with state of the art energy efficiency and stormwater systems. A neglected space next to the sports facilities was transformed into a functioning, educational platform for sustainable practices. A new entry and hand-on learning space was created with a massive solar array, storm water collection and treatment, community garden, greenhouse, and concession stand. This green campus addition serves as an inviting place to gather, pass through, and learn. These systems are designed to be educational tools for students, visitors, and the neighborhood, helping raise the next generation of environmental stewards.
